Regardless of the many critics, President Obama is doing a great job. Our President entered into an abysmal situation. Let’s just face it, nine years of Bush was not a blast. Now, everyone automatically blames one man, the President, for every one of America’s ills. However, this man has fortitude. President Obama has not winced nor cried a loud, despite the heap of criticism thrown at him on a daily basis. I like our current President. He is not afraid to forge new frontiers or tread virgin territory. For most of his haters, they are just perplexed that his swagger has not changed since day one of his term.

You may ask the question, what makes Mr. Obama a good President in my eyes. While my blog is based on my personal opinions, my profession and the knowledge I’ve gained from psychiatry obviously adds to my insight. From my point of view, I feel that eight specific terms define the President and what he stands for, making his presidency great.

1. Integrity- the adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty.
2. Fortitude- the mental and emotional strength in facing difficulty, adversity, danger, or temptation courageously.
3. Strength- moral power, firmness, or courage
4. Swagger- How one presents himself to the world; the ability to handle a situation with a sense of calm and uncanny grace; the ability to maintain a healthy level of self-confidence without appearing arrogant; the inability to be easily shaken by anyone or anything.
5. Knowledgeable- possessing or exhibiting knowledge, insight, or understanding; intelligent; well-informed; discerning; perceptive.
6. Level-Headed- exercising or showing good judgment
7. Presidential- befitting a president
8. Stately- characterized by a graceful, dignified, and imposing appearance or manner

President Obama is truly an asset to this country and we really need him during these trying times. President Obama is setting precedence and fighting through each moment with both pride and dignity. Let’s give our President the opportunity to lead. President Barack Obama, I give you an A+ for your first year in the oval office.
