I Want to Kill My Spouse: Part VII

Password Protected (P-P)

This is the most difficult type of relationship to deal with in therapy. All of you probably have a computer by now, I hope.  If it meets standard specifications, you probably cannot get into the system without a password.  That simply means that your documents and privileged information are password protected.  So are most of our hearts.  Many couples come to the office knowing very little about each other.  Erotic zones are unknown and forget-me-nots are forgotten. Both poor and a total lack of communication are almost as cruel as the green-eyed monster, jealousy. They both foster the poor development of a relationship.  There is a particular set of words/phrases, moves, touches, and/or gifts that make one vulnerable at any moment in time.  The most interesting thing about these love phenomena is that many partners do not know what makes their spouse/partner feel good.  Where are the grooves that make them giggly?  What are the sensitive zones that make lovemaking easy?  Where does he/she like to be touched?  Most people do not volunteer the answers to the above questions, because this information is password protected.  So, in the end, many people sit in relationships and never really choose to understand their mates.  This becomes the battleground of the mind.  It becomes very difficult to connect with a partner you do not understand or feel. How does one feel his/her partner?  There is a process to unlocking the mystery of a significant other and it all lies within timing.  You must understand the timing of your relationship, timing of your conversations, and timing of your intimacy. Many tasks can be accomplished in therapy, but important steps may have to be accomplished in the bedroom (if you know what I mean).  If you are going to use any computer, you have to acquire the essential passwords.  So in essence, if you are going to have a successful relationship, you must have access to your partner’s thoughts and feelings.

Yes Dr. O I in the past had thought about killing my husband for his short commings that have adversley effected my family and like wise him too. As you know we both suffer from mental illnesses. I think that the answer for us besides God are strong support groups both professional as well as family. We both attended a birthday party for my grandson Jamal last night who turned 5 on today, September 5, 2010. It was a milestone for family to be there and acceptance of everyone who attended the party. I love you Dr. O and thank you again for all you did in helping me while in therapy.
