There is no definition or set guide lines to what true love is. It’s what each and every individual wants it to mean.

    • admin

@DOA That is so true. However, I am wondering what some of the other responses will be.

  • Essdie

I agree with @DOA that there is no set definition of love. However, I think that there are certain components that MUST be in every definition of love…respect, trust, humor, compassion, honor, intellect, passion, and sacrificial effort are a few of them. It doesn’t matter if it is parental, familial, platonic or romantic love; these elements are necessary for it to work.

@Essdie are all elements sppropriate for each type of LOVE?

  • Essdie

Fo’ Sho’! The thing to remember is that although it is ideal that both parties give and receive all elements all the time, reality is that sometimes only one of the involved parties is equipped with certain of the elements. The true lover should give them all even if they are not all reciprocated. If you just give your best, you should receive the best of the other party and between the two of you, all necessary elements should be present. PLEASE note my use of the word “should”!
