When a child has a serious health issue like obesity, everything should be done to get the child the help that they need. If parents aren't doing enough, then CPS may need to help the parents set up a healthy eating/lifestyle plan. Removal of the child should only occur in severe cases - when the parent has failed to help reduce the child's weight.
