Dr. O, I apreciate your concern for the Black church but I also know that the church has withstood hatred from other faiths- racism, vandalism and embarassment. Trust me when I tell you there are more good leaders of integrity than there are fakers in the pulpit. The Black church will be just fine because in spite of it all God is good and Prayer works! Keep the faith my brother.

I find it very interesting how people are passing judgement on Bishop Long when none of this has gone to trial. Isn’t it true that a man is innocent until proven guilty? By no means am I defending him, however it seems like a whole lot of mess, and ain’t nobody happy but the devil. Does anyone ever stop to think that God is allowing this to happen? We as Christians should be trusting in God, not man. People have said that, they think Bishop is guilty because he hasn’t said anything, but that shouldn’t make him guilty. My question is: Where are the mother’s of the young men, the church members that traveled with Bishop Long because we all know that he didn’t take his accusers on trips alone. They aren’t saying anything and people know that if there were any signs of innapropriate behavior it would have been addressed. We have only heard from one accuser that was practically ambushed into giving the interview. The media blows everything out of proportion, and I feel that this is a test from God. If Bishop Long is guilty then so be it, but if not I really feel bad for those of you that put hateful words into the atmosphere about him!! WE need to pray!!

What if this was a white male who’s in the same shoes as bishop (mega church, luxurious lifestyle etc) and had these same 4 young black men accusing him of sexual abuse? Would all these pro Eddie people switch sides and be for the men? Probably would even though this white man is parallel to Eddie. Unh unh noooo!! Religion wouldn’t be an issue then it would be “that ( racial slurs and profanities) WAS messing with them black men , I knew it’!!” there wouldn’t be a doubt at all about the mens accusations @ Dee everybody is passing judgement both ways since that’s what you say. I’m sure you may be cursing them young men for exposing him. If he found not guilty them that won’t change nothing. Like I said earlier, OJ was found not guilty too. God not going punish us for saying what we believe. We will be forgiven. Jesus forgave his crucifiers and all others. I don’t need or care about no one in the flesh forgiving or not forgiving me.
