The fruition of a DREAM once deferred has come to past.  Fortunately enough, Urban Prep Charter School in Chicago has brought this DREAM to life. For the second year in a row, the entire graduating class, 104 students, has been accepted into a 4 year college or university.  What makes this public charter school so unique is the fact that it is comprised of at risk African American Males only. Most students have come from families faced with economic and academic dispairities.  They also lack male role models.

Urban Prep’s mission is to provide a comprehensive, high-quality college preparatory education,  to young men that results in their graduates entering into college. They are definitely living up to and carrying out their mission.
